Well I took my floor out and welded in new metal and bondo'd it. Now im going to beline my floors but I need to do it cheepish. I heard Duplicolor bed liner is good.

Does anybody have any tips on prep, primer, ect.? Thank you. Sorry if this is a repeat thread.

i used raptor bedliner in my tj and it turned out great. i sanded it down and used self etching primer, then sprayed the liner in.

why bondo on the floor? did you use seam sealer?

Because it was what i had and I just used it to fill in the small holes left from my crappy welding. Would seam sealer be better?

Bondo will work fine. Especially if you're bedlining over it.

Thats what i thought. Ive always had good luck with bondo when applied correctly. I know its not the best stuff but it seemed adequate for my application.

Anybody have experiance with Duplicolor bed liner? I was going to take the angle grinder to my floor, and then 2 coats of primer, and then use one of those scuffing pad things everybody uses. What are they called?

I swore i would never bedline my floors but I also figured my Jeep was mostly rust free so im going for it.

Any and all tips are greatly appriciated.

Scotch brite pad. I wouldnt go with the duplicolor, buddy had it in wasnt adequite IMO. Some herculiner or some thick laying bedliner would be best. Herculiner might not be the strongest ever, but it'll be stronger than the duplicolor.

Dont they sell a quart of hurculiner for $30? Would that be enough for a coat or 2?

Not sure how much it would take, i'd be able to tell you come spring time tho. I plan on using hurculiner when i do mine in a month or two. Maybe someone else will chime in on about how much it'll take.

I bought the whole Herculiner kit and it came with a gallon of it and I did 3 coats and had about half a can left so I'd go with a quart and if you need more you can always go back to the store.

use monstaliner, basically made for us jeepers. seen it done with great results

is there any scare of floor temperature when doing this? dont want to get so hott that cant touch floor after going down road or what not? been dying to do this just been researching, heard somewhere once bedlines floor gets real hott since no carpet or anything? any words of wisdom?

the floor will get hot but not enough to burn you. i dont have any carpet and mine is bedlined with cheap stuff and has held up for 3 years now just fine.
