Bedliner Help
Need some guidance on bedlining the lower part of my doors and quarter panels. Right now they are just painted black...I half assed the removal of the trims so the un-even surface from the old glue can be seen through the paint, I figured bedlining over this would help hide it and give it more protection in the process. Im wanting to stay cheap. At my local auto parts store they sell the rustolelium stuff in the can for like 8 bucks a can, however Im not sure how textured this stuff is. Id perfer a pretty textured surface for minimal $. They also sell a small container of herculiner for like 60 bucks. Id perfer to spray but if the roll on is that much better ill break down and do it...Id just like some ideas and opinions, pictures of up-close texture would be nice...Thanks guys

I did the same thing to my xj a lil over a month ago, I bout duplicolor bed liner spray bout $12 a can. And I only used one can. The texture is pretty heavy from a rattle can if you ask me. Its no line-x bed liner but im sure with more than one coat it would def get close. I only put on one coat n it looks and feels just right....note; this stuff comes out thick so you might find yourself cleaning the nozzle a few times as well as it dripping on the floor/ground.

I used Raptor liner on mine, can't talk about durability yet, its only been on for about a month. I paid 120 for the kit and comes with 4 liters, I used 2 liters to spray mine including inside the fenders wells and laid it on pretty thick. Super easy to use and sprays awesome, (you can find the kits that come with a free gun). Probably will end up doing the rest of my jeep when I feel like preping and taping that much more.

I did rustoleum roll on. Just some generic prep on the metal and plastic then rolled on two coats. If I could do it again i'd do 3 or 4 coats and a little bit more prep. Ill post some pix later

Herculiner
Don't waste your money on anything but Herculiner. Its $89.99 for a gallon and the kit with two brushes and two rollers at Auto Zone, Advance and O'Reilly...
My paint on my hood and roof was looking bad(thinning and cracked), so I put two coats of the roll on Herculiner on after prepping by sanding with 100 grit samdpaper and a palm sander. This stuff is THERE, i will not come off. I also did my bumper ends and plan to do the rocker panels soon.

I agree that herculiner is the best bang for your buck in the diy area. If it comes from a can it wont stay on which is what happened to mine. We rolled herculiner on a drive on lift at work and as many cars that drive on and off its still there after a couple years.

it sucks that all these people are saying herculiner is the best.
cuz in reality MONSTALINER is the best
there the only website that compares side by side all the different brands
and IMO they look the best as well as last the longest and have strength against rocks and such
Why choose monstaliner
Detailed comparisons
just my .02cents
