Replacing ball joints this week with the Alloy USA HD Ball Joints. The upper ones came with C-Clips in their bags, but theres honestly nowhere they should go. Does anyone know if these are not needed for the XJs?
As well as: I broke the dust boot on the lower ball joint, can anyone link me to just a dust boot or do I need to make a call to alloy usa for that?
How large of an improvement have these been for you folks?

I dont even remember encountering c-clips for the ball-joints, but I could be mistaken (and I changed mine out quite a while ago at this point).
Here is what the install looks like for a JK front axle - maybe the Ball-Joint is a universal part number and the clips are not specific for the XJ

I would call Alloy USA up really quickly - they should be able to tell you if the retaining clips are required, and if the grease-boot is interchangeable with a stock boot. If yes, a local parts store should have those in-stock

The same ball joint may be used in other applications that require a snap ring. I see this all the time where aftermarket parts will have extra pieces for use on different applications.
