Default BAD rear axle shake

ok, so ive searched high and low for what the problem could be but i cant seem to find anyone with the same issue. I have a 99 xj 4.5 rc on 35 bfg t/a's. Tires have about 2 or 3k miles, never had an issue, drove smooth as glass.

I decided to rotate them to even out the tread wear but started getting a terrible wobble in the driver side rear wheel. Almost as if it was death wobble, but behind me instead of in front. Not really sure how this is possible, but regardless, i switched the tires back around to the original rotation and the problem seemed to go away untill around 55mph BAM hit a bump, the whole *** end almost shakes off the road.

It is a D35 rear end,(yes I'm pushing it with 35's i know) but both bearings and seals were replaced, im just curious as to if anyone else has had this issue and if they fixed it.

I have an 8.25 on the way that im going to try but im not completely sure if it is the axle, or maybe a bent face, or shock, or leaf. But the shocks are new with my lift, and leafs are a bastard pack, but show no signs of breakage or anything. I know for a fact it is not the wheels or tires just because i rotated all four on and still had the issue.

Any suggestions? thanks

Hi

did you check if the wheel nuts are tighten down properly?
maybe recheck your wheel balancing.

hope it's not a major fault.

Lugs are tight, wheels are balanced. Like I said it only starts to shake like this after I hit a bump around 45 to 50. It's really got me stumped

How are your front shocks? Bad shocks can cause cupping of the tires which will
act as your describing.

Make sure that your rear shocks go through their stroke with no binding. Strange that this has happened after a tire rotation. Does the jeep dog track? Have someone follow you to see if it tracks straight.

X 2

Have someone follow you. I had a bent axle shaft. It's also not uncommon for larger tires to need balancing more than once. Make sure all the weights are still there.

Front shocks are brand new, no issues up there. Nothing is binding in the rear I took it through some slow hills to flex out the rear. I'm starting to lean towards the dog tracking or bent shaft. I'm positive it's not the tires because I threw my stockers on to test if it still did it and it did, just less aggressive. I'm going to have someone follow me and watch. Either that or somehow get a gopro underneath to watch what's going on.

Something wedge between the brake drum and the axle shaft wheel mount surface causing it to not be true? Take your brake drum off and inspect everything.
