Ok I have a couple of questions. OK, I have a 3 inch RC lift. I plan on putting 32x11.5x15 on it..... how much if any backspacing should i go with? Im new ot this 4x4/XJ world and trying to learn as i go. Any advise would greatly be appreciated. Oh and can sumone please explain to me what is the principle behind the whole back spacing is?

With stock back spacing 11.5 will rub on your packs and LCA's/swaybar. More backspacing will prevent this. 4.25 sounds good to me.

Back spacing is the distance from the inside edge of the rim to the mounting point of the rim, so less backspacing then more wide stance.

This is by far the most vague subject on the forum, i wish there was a good picture of every backspace on a xj with and without flares and maybe some bushwacker pics. It is also important if the rim is 7, 8, or 10 inches wide, because all three of those, with the same backspace, would all stick out different. Every time i look for pic's of different backspacing, they include everything but the width of the rim, or they will say "3.75 i think".

yes diagrams of what backspacing is, but not real life pictures on such a specific subject. Well pictures but missing info, or just lacking.

I mean we are men, we measure everything, lol, so exactly how far from a stock flare does the lip of a wheel with said 32"x11.5"x15" tire on what backspace and the width of the rim too. Any mixture of the above with a real measurement would be nice starting point

Yea i looked up backspaing and i found one site that described wat it was but showed 1 pic of the hub and then showed one measruement.
