Backspacing question... sorry
I did a search, but it seems like everyone wants their tires to stick out, I really dont. I have an 01 XJ with a RE 3.5" SF lift, trimmed fenders, and 33x12.50 MTZs. I have a used set of Rustys flares that I am going to be putting on. The wheels that are on it now stick out too far and makes the Jeep look like a roller skate. I want to go with 4" BS, but want to know if it will rub anything... besides the top of the fenders.Thanks.

you should be fine with 4" backspacing.
everyone wants their tires to stick out - wrong.
everyone wants a wider ground coverage to maintain stability. if you go up 3.5", you have to go out 3.5". otherwise your rig is gonna be more prone to rollover even at lower speeds.
