B lees 3 link long arm on a xj
I've been trying to decide whether I should get the b lees kit or the Clayton kit. If anyone has had experience with either. Please share your experience

Clayton all the way. 3 piece crossmember, rebuildable johnny joints instead of heims (also larger joint), larger diameter upper link and thicker tubing on both. And a company that will be around for the long haul to honor their warranty if anything were to happen.

No, I haven't. I decided to go this way because a local guy here in the Wilmington, NC area has been running them and they looked great on the trail. He has had no concerns with his setup either. There's a atleast one other person building a jeep on the b.lee setup on this forum, look at Project Buffalo Build.

Yup that's my build. I chose B Lee after reading a few posts from 2014 about the kit. Other than a few posts though there's not too much info on the kit.
I chose it for its simplicity and because it was a true three link. Clayton is not. Clayton is a radius arm kit. Not that it's any lesser of a kit, but it's not what I wanted.
The solid piece crossmember for me was a moot point, because if we're being honest how often do you drop your crossmember? I'd rather not have to worry about extra bolts holding the middle section together. It's a basic piece of 2x4, and will be super easy to design custom skids to mount to, instead of being forced to use a manufacturers skid.
As for joints everyone has their preference. Personally I'd rather replace a whole joint then rebuild one. I won't know how long they'll hold up to the road salt though until I start putting miles on it. AND, B Lee will make your kit ANY way you want it; JJ, heims, both, solid joints on both ends, whatever, he'll make it for you. Will also make the arms any DOM should you find what his kit comes with insufficient.
I have yet to wheel it, I'm finishing up the wj swap/steering. But from juggling the jacks to work on it I know this things will flex like crazy with no binding.
Hope this helps! Again nothing wrong with Claytons, but just not the kit I was after. And if I were to get a radius kit, I probably would have chose Serious, for the simple fact of how active he is on the forum here, and MANY people love his kit.

i like my b.lee kit
it flexes effortlessly. and has a great warranty,
cons:
-i dont think kit has enough adjustment, i have the lowers all the way in and the axles still pushed out a bit farther than id like
-the grease zerks on the bushing end are in a terrible spot, with light/moderate wheeling ive already broken them
-id prefer it with johnny joints instead, however the heims have held up well so far

I ended up going B. Lee because I wanted a true 3-Link and it was quite a bit cheaper.
I could not find the COR-4801512 mentioned above - when I searched it on their website it shows the long arm upgrade kit that is a "radius arm" style.
FYI: B. Lee did make the kit with a 3 piece cross-member but decided to stop making and went with the one piece because it was stronger.
I have not installed mine yet either, I just ordered it on Black Friday and want to do my mid and front frame stiffeners before installing my long arms.

I also chose the b lee I like the fact that it's a true 3- link. It flexes like crazy and works great for a daily driver. I don't do extreme Rock crawling but I hit some pretty nasty trails in it while most of my buddies spend the whole time on 3 wheels my jeep always seems to stay on all four the b lee has so much flex

are these the two kits??
https://www.claytonoffroad.com/jeep_...g_arm_lift_kit
http://bleeoffroad.com/index.php/sus...ng-arm-upgrade
does clayton sell just the 3 link parts instead of the entire hit with springs and all? be nice to hear from more guys that actually used the kits and not just have them sitting in the garage to this point.. real world feedback is always nice.. he more the better.
