which axles do i have?
hey I want to get gears for my jeep but I'm trying to figure out which axles I have. I have a 91 Cherokee 6cyl auto trans. I do know that my front axle doesn't have a axle disconnet its a straight front axle. It also has a stock towing package. And its a more loaded version Cherokee. Thanks for all info guys.

okay going by the pic of the different differetials that one guy put up which was really helpfull by the way. Thanks. I think its the d30 front d35 rear. I was just thrown off by the fact that it doesn't have a vacuum disconnect or any type of axle disconnect.

2 things could be at play here. Since you have a 91, you may not have the disconnect on a 231. If you have a 242, you won't have a disconnect.

he's referring to your transfer case. you can figure out which you have a couple ways.
1) look at the 4x4 shifter on the floor. 242: has a full time 4wd; 231:no full time 4wd
2) should be markings plaque on the transfer case itself. read it
