Default Axle painting and prep tips?

Hey guys im going to be wire wheeling down my HP30 before i throw it in, I want to give it sort of a stock paint look, so I was thinking to prime it then paint it, but should I use hammered, gloss, or flat? any suggestions?

Chassis and roll bar paint. Rattle can will set ya back about $6-7 per can.

I did mine in flat black. looks great, but harder to keep clean. I painted my girlfriends with gloss black, looks good and much easier to keep clean.

Go to Tractor Supply Co. and get the Farm and Implement Paint solud under their label. It is the toughest stuff out there and cleans up easily. About $5 a can.
Take a while to dry, but its hard as woodpecker lips after it cures.
Prep is key, wipe it down with acetone after the wire wheel. Let the primer dry good before you paint.
This is International Harvester Red.

Hmmm... wonder how that'd hold up if I painted the whole jeep...

Is that roll on? Or rattle can?
