Ax-15 2wd convert to a 4wd Ax-15

Hello guys, Has anyone converted a Ax-15 2wd drive to a 4wd Ax-15 ?
I think you could just tear it down and change the main output shaft?

- Tear down.
- Install 4WD mainshaft in place of 2WD mainshaft (carries half of the geartrain, mates with the countershaft)
- Reassemble transmission
- Install 4WD transfer case adapter in place of 2WD tailcone.

Yeah, it can be done - but are you sure you're not better served to just get a 4WD unit? You'll need to get one anyhow, to get the donor parts (and it's an overhaul either way.)
