AW4 2WD to 4WD
OK I havent been able to get a straight clear answer.... What is the diff between the 2wd and the 4wd versions of this auto?
There is a local shop with two of the 2wd autos for 50 bucks each. They have less then 100k on them.
I sooo want it to be that I can just swap the tail end/ tcase adapter so i can put my poor old 250k AW4 to bed.
Any help would be great!

You'll need to disassemble the aw4 to change the output shaft to the 4wd version, then you can change the tailcone and put your transfercase on.

Thanks guys. Ill probably pick them up if for nothing more then parts! My AW4 has been great... BUT with sooo many miles on it I'm sure that the shudder and sudden shifts into neutral are signs to come.
One more question... Will a AMC 360 bolt to the bell housing? The electronics to control it arent a problem for me just cant remember if the 360 used the same bolt patter.
Thanks again guys.
