Default AutoPal 200mm Headlamps with 4300k HIDS - PROBLEM!!

Ok gentlemen here's my problem...

I just got around to installing my autopal headlamps along with 4300k LOW BEAM HIDS. When the light switch is ON and set to LOW BEAM my HIDS won't come on, BUT when I flip to HIGH BEAM the HIDS turn on.

I've gotta feeling that this is something simple I believe I plugged everything up correctly, ballast positive red wire into the spot on the OEM BULB PLUG for positive, and black ground wire from ballast into OEM BULB PLUG for negative which is also black.

Any ideas? It's very much appreciated!!!

And here are some pics, lights are extremely bright!!! I love them!! But i do not know if its the EURO headlamp that makes them look soo much brighter or wether they are actually running on high beams..

It depends. Did you get the bi xenon kit hids? If not then you have 3 wires on stock harness and only two on the hid harness. Try hooking it to the other wire. Give me a minute and I'll find what you need

Nope I purchased the single low beam HID KIT. And yeah you're right about the 3 wires on oem vs. 2 wires on the hid kit. I'm gonna run out to the garage and try switching the wires around.

But yes let me know if you find any info

Low beam __
High beam | | ground

that's the layout. Low-beam on top, high beam on left, And grind on right. That's at factory harness looking at it. make sure if you just have single beam hids that you use top for positive and right for ground.

Use this link and scroll down just a bit and you will see just what I'm talking about. There is a pic of a factory plug labeled.

Also with the kit you have you will only have low beams. But with the output you will have what's the point of brights? Lol.

Glad you got it fixed. By the way the link I sent is a great way to make your own upgrade harness to get even more from those lights. I did it with my stock sealed beams and it's night and day dif

The only way you can have halogen highs is with a four headlight setup which we don't have. Those only make a good hid low beam

Ahhh I'm not very good at electrical or wiring. If anything I'm going to end up purchasing an upgraded kit to replace my old one. I saw the link on that site for the DIY but it looks too complicated for my impatient self. I'd rather pay someone else to get the headache instead of myself.

I've had HID BULBS for my old civic with SINGLE LAMP headlights for LOW and HIGH. The bulb was a low beam HID with an additional HALOGEN bulb attached to it.

I had no idea there was such a thing. I have a set of 55 watt ballasts laying around so I may order these just to see how they work.

And you can just get an upgrade harness but if you're like me and have some parts of it laying around why not take the time to go by the link and make your own harness better than the ones you can buy for $130? I used wire and one relay I had already and spent an extra 30 on sockets more wire and flex loom.

Got a link to what you bought & such? I'm looking to upgrade my headlights & yours look great!

Also is there a headlight harness upgrade for a Renix year Cheroke? I've got a 88 and want a new harness.
