Default Auto Meter coolant temp sensor electrical hookup

I just purchased an auto meter coolant temp sensor and I need to find a spot to splice in for power to the gauge. It needs 12v and a ground for the sensor along with 12v and ground for the light, preferably connected to the exterior light switch.

Does anyone have any recommendations where I should wire these connections from? I have heard to just splice the wires at the fuse block under the driver side dash that correspond with the exterior light switch and ignition on switch and also the ground.

If that's correct, which wires would be the ignition and the light switch?

Thanks!

i would just get a basic wiring diagram and jump a switch wire from the headlight switch for your light and tap your hot stereo wire for the power. grounds can just be screwed to the body with self tapping screws or find a bolt on the dash body that will work
