a trac loc is very comparable but for about 25-40% less $.
They are a clutch disc style that starts out as the best they will ever get in the first 1000miles. and get progessivley looser and less efeective from that point on. Average life I would say is about 40K for 50% effective of new, and by 80K they are not much better then open.

aussie has rear lockers back in stock i do beleive, and with shipping its only 320. id highly suggest that over a limited slip for only $5 more.
is that the typical suggested retail for a limited slip? bc i have been looking into getting one, but was under the impression they were a fraction of the cost because, as stated before they wear out in time where lockers dont.
are limited slips installed similar to an aussie? where you just pull the carrier and then remove the spider gears and then install the limited slip? or is it a different process?

Insert lockers are cheap. The drive like such too. Reason why not one vehicle ever came w a auto locker.
Take a Aussie or even Spartan locked xj and let ur mom, daughter, valet, etc drive it. When they return you will hear them say something's wrong and it sounds broken.
Now put a posi in it and now there's no odd driving or clicks or Bangs. It's nice on tires and axle shafts and just more like a vehicle should be.
That's why u do a posi over a cheap insert locker.
Now if you don't have the $$ to do it right then you just do what u can afford.

I have an aussie in front and i love it. But my xj is the only vehicle i own, so i dont want to run an aussie in the rear. And limited slips are actually more pricey than lunchbox lockers(aussie, lock rite etc) and limited slips replace the whole carrier, not just the spider gears, i wish i had another vehicle so i could run an aussie in the rear
