Part of me is thinking about getting one. I spend a lot of time in places with very little parking and trying to squeeze a lifted xj in tight places gets annoying. I'm not totally sold on the idea yet but eventually I'll have a rear tire carrier which means rear view is compromised significantly.
Just looking for opinions and reviews of products. What do ya guys think??

I still have to get a camera and mount it, but I'll be running one. I bought an "oem" Toyota auto dimming rear view mirror w the screen inside it.

I'm thinking of mounting one in my grille and have it pointed towards the ground. It would act as a break over camera like in the new Ford Raptor.

Something like this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...n-VTK-350.html you could drill a hole and mount in the bumper out of the way.Look around that site they have a lot of brands with the same style of camera.

There are just so many options available for cameras and monitors. It's hard to decide which route to take. I like the idea of the monitor integrated in a rear view mirror since I already have a Garmin Nuvi taking up space.

this is the mirror i have:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180895769591?item=180895769591&viewitem=&vxp=mtr#ht_2171wt_1163
i have yet to test it w a camera, but it looks exactly like my buddy's mirror in his 2011 tacoma. a lot of the mirror i looked at on DX or whatever said that their is some "ghosting" where the monitor is in the mirror and you can always see it. i did NOT want that.
i still have to buy a camera, thats something i'll get from DX. not sure what kind/where i'd mount it yet.

That is really slick, a bit pricy but auto dimming is amazing (my moms Mercedes has it on the side mirrors too, and it is super nice).
I would get a camera that is IR compatible, and mount some big IR leds on the rear so you can see in the dark
Which it will be all the time once I get my windows tinted
A cheaper option would be a radar based parking sensor kit though. Like $20 or so.
