God knows how old the upper control arm bushings are, and they are starting to get squishy. I wanted to see who is using what for replacement bushings. Dont really want to do the $200ish Johnny Joint upgrade as sick as that would be.



But also would like to do some kind of upgrade over stock

There is a company that makes a rebuildable bushing that fits right in the stock location.

I went with the stock rubber ones. I have the stock UCAs still, so I don't imagine I would see a quantifiable increase in flex. But I would feel more vibrations.

yep, picked up some stock ones at Napa. Already in the Freezer chillin.

You can never go wrong with polyurethane. They're far superior in quality to OEM rubber bushings, in most cases. These say they come with metal inserts, so I assume you have to remove the old ones. Put the rubbers in, ride quality and control are much better. Guess I will save the upgrade for when I finally get some long arms for this thing.

Rubber gives a better ride, but poly is tougher & lasts longer.

Now, the ones you posted a link to require you to reuse the stock metal shell....the metal insert they talk about is the metal sleeve the bolt goes thru....all of them have that...but not all have the outer sleeve.

For those, you'd have to cut out or burn out the stock bushing so you have the outer shell still in the bracket, then just slide the poly into it and bolt the control arm back on.
