Another transfer case drop question
So I have degree shims and tc drop. I know guys are against the tc drop but my question is, can I pull the drop out and just run the degree shims or will I get drive line vibes? I have a 4.5 inch lift on 265/75/16s thanks

I guess it would depend on your shims. I'm at 4 1/2" and use shims plus an SYE. The SYE's are always a good choice and many cost under $150 a worthwhile investment in my book for any lift over 3".
This was suggested to me by my 4x4 shop where I have a lot of my work done and the owner has been in business for over 40 yrs. He builds ground up crawlers and all kinds of 4x4's with Jeeps his specialty has lots of good ideas.

It may work. I was at 5.5" of lift and just used some washers between the transfer case cross member. I didn't have much in the way of vibes. Keep in mind that I only did that as a temporary fix. A few weeks later I installed a SYE & double Cardon DS.
You'll probably have a nasty angle at your transfer case tail shaft, not to mention some nasty stresses on bearings in your transfer case. Oh, ya your slip yoke is gonna be out quite far too.

DO NOT run degree shims unless you have installed a SYE already.........
If you are running the factory slip-yoke, and 2-joint driveshaft, then you want the pinion angle as close to parallel with the transfer case output shaft as possible.......................

Click on the "Tech Info" link, then click on "Geometry 101"
Lots of good info in there................
