another regear thread
i got 31's and 3.55 gearing (auto). im gonna get my 30 and 44 regeared and idk if i want 4.56 or 4.10's. i dont hardly ever go about 65, and EVENTUALLY i want 33's. (my 31's still have plenty of life in em though)
so what's your guys' opinions? I've looked in prolly 10 other threads and see both ways. would my mileage improve with the 4.56 along with more power? oh and on a side note, ill prolly have em put in a locker in back, i was think aussie or lock-rite, any opinions on those?

If you're sure you may go up to 33's, I would go ahead and get 4.56 gears. You'll have alot better low end torque. With the 31's and 4.56 gears you'll probably be a little over geared (high rpm's on the road). It just depends on how soon you get the 33's. For the locker, I've heard good things about the aussie. Hope this helps.

[QUOTE=99xjteen;1423046]ok, i was leaning more towards aussie as well. i guess my main concern is with 4.56 will i get ANY better mpg with 31's over stock? (right now im gettin 13ish)
It depends on your driving conditions. If your mostly on the highway at high speeds, it'll probably be the same now but higher rpms and harder on drivetrain. You might want to just save up and do the re-gear/tire upsize at the same time. My .02

I would go 4.56s, especially if you rarely get to 65. 3.55->4.10 is not even worth the cost IMO.
