None of the 1/0 ring terminals fit the alternator without removing the plastic isolator. What do you normally do, leave the B+ connection exposed?

Isolate using a glue gun?

I suppose I could try to find a smaller ring terminal or use part of the fuse link and solder to the 1/0 cable, however over time the solder connection might fail.

Or make one from a spark plug boot, a medicine bottle, something similar ..

The oe plastic insulator is designed not to trap water, so the terminal connection doesn't rust out.

I suppose it's not that big of a concern and can be left open, however I go into areas with heavy undergrowth, rocks and debris that get stuck underneath.

Once had small log buried in the sand, get stuck above the driveshaft and some cables, hardly making any sound, would have done some serious damaged and taken the drive-shaft, if I hadn't stopped and looked.
