Allow me to waste your time...

So yes I have another lift opinion/poll/ discussion.

All I'm after is a reliable 3" lift. I want to throw on a JCR brush guard bumper and rear with tow hooks. I don't go extreme mudding but need something reliable to get through this mud hole on occasion.

I want to get the rubicon super ride kit, but really have no desire to mess with an SYE.

I'm looking at this kit. They are local. Offer a size able military discount and will install it for crazy cheap. So why not and if not what is price comparable?

According to that links it's Rough Country suspension components they use in their lifts. I'd look at the Zone or Rusty's 3" lifts to be honest.

You're going to get a lot of people telling you to avoid AAL's and white body generic shocks........

Listen to them.

The white shocks work for a lot of people. The AAL's, however, not so much...lol!

It's looking like I need full leaf packs anyways. My wife just pointed out that mine are completely flat. FML.

Might be cheaper to drive around said mud hole :icon_cheesygrin: . I would heed the warnings about AAL s and shocks.

Is that a Grand Cherokee? Are you talking about lifting that or an XJ?

I have an 01 Cherokee. I just happened to be up there when this guy got stuck. It would be allot cheaper to drive around the mudhole, but then what would I need a jeep for? Oh and please excuse my noobness. I just saw this;

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/al...10579/index15/

Reading through all the pages. It's looking like I need to man up and just get the RE Super ride.

A lift kit will not add any traction lol. They are all reliable, I have a 3 inch RC lift and it may be stiff but it's reliable. If your on a budget go RC. And aals don't hurt anything but build it right and get full leaf packs. The aals will just end up sagging again

Do your research, RE have drawbacks too. Before I decided to do a mixed 4.5" lift, the 3" lifts I was looking at were Zone and Rustys. I did a lot of reading and research and ruled both RC and RE out...use the search function and search for titles only using this: "lift problem"

You'll find posts of all the people who have problems with their lift kits. RC and RE are the 2 most complained about, for differing reasons of course.

Pic a product and you'll certainly find a critic.

I started out with RC's 3 inch lift and loved it....for all of 6 months. Their craptastic shocks gave out fast and the front coil springs sagged noticeably within a year (with no added front end weight). I now have BDS shocks and most of their 3inch kit....wish I had gone that route sooner. My understanding is that Zone and BDS are one in the same.
