Why is the tire market so broad? What I mean is, (for example), why are Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's for much more expensive than Wrangler DuraTrac's...should I stretch for the M/T's

No way bro. DuraTracs are the best tire I've owned. Best traction on any surface. Also they'll last longer.

Not sure that the Duratracs are the best but they do perform. I'm in Chicago and I drove through 18.5" of snow and the only reason I stopped every so often was due to my XJ being stock height. The Duratracs definitely provide loads of traction and drive amazingly well on road as well.

I definitely recommend them for on and off road driving. That being said I believe there are better tires if you are going to constantly be wheeling.

M/T are nice if you spend most your time in the mud, but duratracs are good for just about all terrains

DuraTracs have a thinner sidewall than other off-road tires, so if youre gonna go one sharp rocks, get something else.

Also look into the General Grabber AT2's. good cheap and I loved them. Plus I ran rocks with them and LOTS of high way miles

That's true but as far as I've read that's only with the 235s. All other Duratracs are triple ply on the sidewalls.

Ok, another question... I'd like to put 32's on the stock 15 x7 Rim...Is this possible? And what part of the tire size code accounts for height..
