So if you had to decide between these two "lift kits", which one would you choose? I am on a rapidly shrinking budget, so I'm leaning towards the 2" shackles and tomken spacers.

Would that be sufficient? I'm not looking to have my Jeep exactly off-road capable, it's mostly my daily driver to and from college(s). I just put 31"s on it and I need to get a 2" lift. Would the cheaper alternative be good enough for daily driver, with the occasional romp in the dirt? (after I get new shocks of course).

I like my bars, I already use 'em to hang stuff on to dry haha, me and my girl swam in the creek the other day (waters still cold just for the record) and I hung out all or clothes to dry on it (it was like 80° out)

I like the way it looks on mine, gave me a spot to mount lights too, it's a matter of functionality, looks, and protection, each Jeep is different, but I do recommend Leonard's bumpers, built to last if you don't mind waiting a bit for 'em

Question? Is creaking/popping when you step on the brakes usual after installing a lift kit? I installed a used rustys 3". The sound doesnt really bother me, but unnecessary wear on my stearing/suspention components would.

Everything greased up really good? It also may need to "settle" in.

Outside of my axle size is there anything special I should pay attention to while buying u-bolts? I'm going from stock leads to a set of ome 2" packs and I don't know if they will be thicker or not. Just looking to see if I'll need larger u-bolts. (and yes I know I'll need new bolts)

Make sure they are quality, don't buy cheapos from the hardware store, and make sure they are long enough most leaf packs are a little thicker than stock.

Well I have been looking online to buy a set and have found them for around $25 w/ free shipping. How much can I expect to pay for a quality set. And how can I determine if they will be long enough? Just crawl under and measure?

I got min. For 40 dollars, just buy rubicon express or rough country, not a generic brand.

What do the gods of this forum recommend I do to a stock 97-01 XJ, when lifting it 6.5" with long arms(I've been looking at Rough Country's kit).

I want to be able to drive it, without it being a POS. I'm new to 4x4ing, and would like to learn as much as possible; before pulling the trigger on an XJ and dropping dough on lifting it.

Do I need beefier axles?
