Now I know everyone talks bad about add a leafs but would putting it on a basically brand new pack really sag that much over time?

Sag and ride like crap. It's not worth it. Also, for 4.5"+ lift it's not exactly a budget thing to do. It requires quite a few bits.

are your leaf packs new ? Shackle relocation brackets paired with drop shackles may net you the same lift with better shackle angles .

its not the sag thats the big issue, it is the ****ty ride quality

I've gone this route and all the extra length of everything made the rear end feel unstable. Going around sweeping turns on the interstate I could look in the rear view mirror and actually see the axle move. Too much leverage on everything. I also got the leaf springs on everything wheeling like that. Now with higher lift springs, shorter shackles, and no lift relocation boxes it handles better and it doesn't get hung up offroad.

I could see that . I personally haven’t been that route if I had and had your same experience I wouldn’t of suggested it just a potentially budget friendly idea .

Currently working to install a set of Rancho 1.5" leaf springs (RS44148) with new OMIX-ADA OEM shackles, and having some trouble lining everything up. First it's the centering pin on the leafs to the axle - it's about half an inch forward from where it should be. I still have the drive shaft and passenger side connected.

My thought is to disconnect the drive shaft and unbolt the passenger side (u-bolts and shock) so I can move the axle with the floor jack. This should allow me to get both leafs in, bolted to the frame and the shackle, and then line the axle up with the center pin.

Anyone see any issues here? I guess it might have the potential of pushing the axle forward, but my hope is the springs just need weight on them and once everything is back on the ground, the alignment will all work.

Also, there's the shackle itself. It's not wanting to fit properly over the Rancho leaf eye and bushings. It's bowing out on one side. Should I just bend and wiggle it the shackle around until I can get the bolt all the way through?

Im trying to stay at around 4in of lift, Im running sagging rc 3in springs ups front (more like 2in at this point) im running stock HD up country leak packs, with RC shackle relocation brackets, and chevy 2in or 1.5in lower/ lift shackle. As of now the shackle is in the most forward position on it lowest setting, i got a heavy front bumper and winch. i need to pick the front back up, and get it level. i would like to pull the shackle in the bracket, back a notch or two to the rear for better shackle angle. The rear has to be sitting around 4in as the front sitting around 2, and there is a decent amount of front rake right now. What do you guys recommend for front springs. was looking at RE 4.5 springs, but not shure if that would be the correct ones to get.

Another 4" coil option is Superlift 550s off Summit. They're dirt cheap and have a rating of 170lb so they ride very nice. I have a set on my Jeep with a 8 year old 3" Rusty's leafs and JKS shackles on 35s no issues and much better than the RE 3.5" coils I used to have.

Default RE 4.5" lift

So I picked up a solid 2001 Cherokee XJ 2 dr last year. Currently been making needed repairs over the past winter and now I'm going to do the lift. I purchased the Rubicon Express 4.5" lift with full spring packs and control arms. I'm only going to be running Falken Wildpeaks that are 31/10.5-15. I know I have more than enough lift, but my reason for this is that the XJ is getting fat. I've added unibody stiffeners, gas tank skid, transfer case skid, winch, front bumper, and rear bumper. I still need to add the rock rails that I have for it. So as you can see the little XJ is getting heavy. I'm curious if anyone knows what kind of loss of lift I can expect? I have heard that the RE lifts run a little high and was hoping that extra height would off set the extra weight. I should also add that the Jeep came with what I believe is a worn out Rusty's 3"lift with add a leafs and the 31's will rub.

Default 3 inch lift

I have a Zone Off-road 3 inch lift for my XJ. It’s got new leaf springs with U bolts, coils, shocks with boots, a transfer case drop kit and sway bar disconnects. My question is, is there a thread or sticky that lists everything that I should have on hand when I go to install the kit? I plan on doing it next week, and I have jacks, jack stands, sockets, wrenches and an angle grinder available to me. I’d rather know if I should pick something else up now than find out when I go to install everything

Also have a torque wrench and a list of needed torque specs.

Default Rough Country Lift Kit

Hi, so i am new to this thread and will be getting a Jeep Cherokee XJ soon. I have some questions about a lift kit. The lift kit i am looking at is the Rough Country 4.5 inch X series Lift. I was wondering if anyone was running th lift and wanted to see how it rode on and off road and if it has good flex for off road use.
