Okay, I'm kind of new and have a question?
First I've been running stock 2010 wrangler five spoke 17x7.5 with 255/75 (about 10.5 in wide) on them. That being said my question is can I go up to a width of 11-11.5 in.

Welcome. To answer the question with one word, no. The wheel range for 255/75/17 is 6.5"- 8.5" wide. If you use a 10" or 11" wheel than the sidewall of tire will bulge out which will make it easier to damage. Also the tire bead will not hold as well, especially when aired down. And it will look bad to have a bulging sidewall.

You read the tire width he has now, not the rim width. He has 7.5" wide wheels so they would be right in the middle of the width range you specified.

If you go on discount tire (I'm sure other sites have it to, but I haven't checked) you can look up the tire size you want and when you click on a tire you like you can check the specs and it wi tell you what width rim the manufacturer specifies.

Default Drop brackets installed

so I had to cut one of my control arms off and I just ordered new adjustable ones, turns out I have a gap where they mount to the axel, can I just shim it? I also need a longer bolt. I think the control arms I ordered aren’t the same size as stock.

I kept getting lead down rabbit holes with google searches... there are so many Jeep conversations out there... .

This is my first time doing any modification like this to any XJ. Does anyone have examples/forum links/pictures of both a 3 vs. 4.5 (or others) inch lift with largest tire possible/aesthetically acceptable and no fender modification and no rubbing? I'm not looking to do any extreme off-roading with this one, just light trails and aesthetics. I'm looking to keep this as stock as possible aside from the required adds/modifications for the lift itself.

I've had lift shackles and 235s (stock leafs were wore out so I just added shackles to level it back out), 3" and 235s, 3" and 31s, 4.5" and 31s, 4.5" and 33s, 4.5" and 35s, and 5.5" with 35s is the current set up.
Finally decided on and ordered this:

Lift: 3.5 RE Super Ride - https://www.quadratec.com/p/rubicon-...j-chrysler-825
Shocks:
Amazon Amazon

Aside from these https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/li...ements-223656/, can you guys think of anything else I can/should replace along the way. For example, all of my bump stops are shot on front and back and I'm not sure which sizes to order. If I'm going to have this stuff torn apart, I may as well replace all I can now. Everything on my 2000 XJ is stock and original currently.

Bought the A.A. sye kit and have it installed. Having trouble torquing the yokes back down on account of I don’t have an impact to use 1 and what’s the best way to hold the yokes in place while using the torque wrench?

But how do you secure the yoke itself?

I use a pipe wrench around the yoke and pin the handle against the ground or the uniframe rail, and then I use a torque wrench to get the nut tightened properly.

1995 Jeep XJ 2dr 2wd. Ive been looking at 4.5” lifts from zone and rc. To include new leaf packs, shocks, fixed lower control arms, and coil springs. What else should I replace/buy while I’m at it. I know 4.5” of lift will mess with some things so I wanna make sure I get what I need. I’ll be driving it to/from work with mild off-roading and trail riding. Thanks in advance.

https://liftkits4less.com/ just wondering why a 4.5 lift for a 2wd, seems a little excessive. Link shows everything you need to get high...you might want a steering stabilizer adjustable track bar sway bar links transfer case drop pitman arm controlarms etc. several other tidbits that addup . Go for a three inch and it is bolt on and you can just use 1" inch spacers and new bolts for the transfer case drop.

Default 4.5” kit can I swap my springs to 5.5”

So I have the RE 4.5” lift kit with adjustable track bar.
My question is can I swap my coil springs and rear leafs to 5.5” without doing anything else?

it’s a short arm. I already have done everything for the 4.5” like SYE track bar steering stabilizer as well as everything that was in the RE lift kit. I figured I could do the 1” taller springs I would just need shocks. Do you think a 5.5” would need long arms? Would it just ride better? I’d rather not make it ride any worse.
