Default Air compressor set up

I just got an air compressor from a '91 Lincoln town car. It had air bag suspension system from the factory.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone used the same compressor for their on board air on xj? How did u hook up the wiring and plumbing etc. pictures would be excellent lol

Are you sure the compressor works most of them burned out over time.

Does it say on it how many amps it needs? You basicly need a wire a inline fuse a relay and a pressure switch on the tank.

Yes it's 20 amps and there's a pressure shut off switch built in, but I think it probably would be too low, probably gonna bypass that and use an external pressure switch on the tank like u said.

Well, I did not use one from a Lincoln, but I used the compressor for the air suspension off a Land Rover. What are you using it for? Is it for airing up tires, or other accessories as well? Mine is for air lockers and tires. Some afterthoughts - the output it pretty low for large tires. It is about on par with an autozone battery clip style pump. It is fine in a pinch, but a gas station is much faster. It works great for air lockers. We put an external tank on so there would be plenty of space for hook ups and also so it would have some good air volume for the lockers and it is not going off pump only. Hooked it all in with 3/8" air hose.

'Tis! That is the air tank that all the goodies are hooked to. The pressure switch is mounted on the driver side end, and air hose hook up on the other side.

Yeah, it is not high capacity, but given its intent, I did not see a need for more.

Do u think it will be able to fill up one gallon tank? I also read somewhere that for bigger capacity tanks, I would need two compressors feeding the same tank. Do u think you would agree?
