Default air bag sensor

ok so i got a new winch bumper and today i started taking the old one off. Once i got the end caps off i found this ball thats bolted to the inside of the bumper and im not sure what it is i think it might be an air bag sensor and i dont know what to do with it. its a 97 and this is on the passenger side please help me!!!!

I'm pretty sure that you are describing the vacuum reservoir... I thought that it was an air bag sensor for the longest time too lol. Just relocate it to somewhere in the engine bay. Yes you do need it it helps balance the vacuum system and keeps vacuum based accessories working properly. Also want to see pics of the new bumper too.

No No No. Thats a jeep egg. The hose connected to it is the umbilical cord. Take care of it and it might hatch into a new XJ.

FYI the Airbag doesnt have a sensor, Its a stand alone unit.

Like said, its just the vacuum ball. Just move it. Or plug it, I have heard that works but I just moved mine between the battery and distributer
