After market throttle body

Does anyone have any experience with the Jeepers and Creepers 62mm throttle body for the 4 liter? If so what's the difference in power did it make? I'm curious about getting one.

I can't speak from personal experience so take anything I say with a grain of salt. Speaking of 62MM TB's in general most people say its one of the single most noticeable mods you can make. This combined with a 99+ intake and 703 injectors would make a drastic night/day difference. Probably good for about 15-20HP

A throttle bored to the size of the intake manifold hole and done with the corresponding increased butterfly will be noticeable. www.strokedjeep.com has a very good deal on them. I've used 3 of his TBs with excellent results. Cool thing is he ships you one all done, you install it, and send your old one back for an immediate core refund.

Is it not even worth getting the larger throttle body if your not going to change to larger injectors, intake manifold and a better intake though?

You don't need to do anything else. Just the TB will put a smile on your face. The ECU will adjust for everything else.

Awesome!! Good to hear. Thanks

x2 on strokedjeep.com i'm currently running his 63mm TB and throttle response went through the roof. Since then i've added 703 injectors, 99+ intake manifold, APN header, and 2.5" catback with a flowmaster super 44. Huge improvement over stock.

Helpful tip, reset the ecu when ever you do a mod to a part that is sensed buy it. Just search the form for how to do it. It's easy, and the jeep really responds.

Not to hijack but Brofessor, did you have any fitment issues with your 99+ manifold and the APN? Did you have to grind like a lot of the other guys do? Just curious as I am going to be installing them at the same time.

Same time is a good idea and yes it did take some grinding on the 6th intake runner and some discipline to get it to fit flush. Some guys said you have to dent the 6th pipe on the header too but I didn't just grinded, tried fitting it, grinded more, and repeat until it went on.

Heres my thread on it: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/99...stions-117409/

Sorry I forgot to take a pic of the grinded underside of the intake I was in the zone haha.

How much do those 99+ intakes cost and do they add that much more than the older intakes?

No dyno numbers that I know of but I can verify it by the dyno in the seat of my pants. lol

The price will vary. I have seen them on average 50-100$. IIRC they are equal length runners and are "tuned" better from the factory. Most I know that have done it have seen gains. It is easy enough to do for the HO's. I have a 60mm strokedjeep.com TB (largest renix TB can go) and I noticed a difference. Now, I also have Ford/Bosch 5.0 19# injectors, upgraded wires, etc. Leigh's stuff is the way to go. Best price around.

Guy here on the forum sells them, 98 jeepjeep. It was 100$ shipped to my door. From what my understanding is the 99 will net you about 13hp. Here's the logic; in 99 to meet stricter emissions the 4.0 dropped to 177hp, same as renix, to get that hp back the chrysler engineers focused on the intake and when finished ended back up at 193hp and 235tq, installing the intake on 4.0 with the less strict emissions (Pre 99) will get you the difference, about 13hp and 10tq, and a whole lot of skinny pedal responsiveness.
