affordable seats for harness
Looking to get a pair of seats to install harnesses. Im not looking for $300+ for a single seat. Comfort is always nice but not of HUGE importance, iv been sitting on 16year old xj seats so yall get the point. There comfortable enough. But im wanting to get both front seats with holes for harness. Anyone know anywhere with nice affordable seats? All i find seem to be top of the line expensive seats.

Idk, iv been sitting on my xj stock seats and they feel good, not bad at all. So i don't really feel like i need to buy a supreme feel and comfort seat when i feel excellent with the comfort i have now. I'm sure there are some people out there that sit in some seriously nice corbeau seats that would feel uncomfortable in stock xj seats. I really just want a seat that i can correctly install a harness on. I wont cheap out on harnesses at all. If i remember correctly, there was a guy who did a write up on how to modify stock xj seats to install a harness on them. I wouldn't mind doing that

i mean the only reason or way an xj seat can work with a harness is by having the 2 holes on the top. That's all. And yes an interior cage is in the works and or i could easily just bolt it on like i have seen in many buggies. It didn't have to be wrap around. But yeah. I like the seats that serious sell. I knew i wasn't going to find seats 100 a pop but i wasnt wanting to spend 400 on 1 either. Problem is solved and now to save. Thanks everyone

Also go with a 5 point over a 4 point harness. A four point harness may look safe because of reinforced straps and everything but in any wreck they are more likely to seriously injure or kill you than to actually protect you. They have a nasty habit of crushing ribs. If you're serious about putting in a harness, its not something to skimp on, buy quality stuff and install everything correctly. The seat itself doesn't matter so much but a quality harness mounted to a HARNESS bar is key. Mounting a harness to anything other than a roll cage or harness bar is never a good idea, or safe.

If you want to run them on the streets i only know of one dot approved set which is a 4 point. The other option is dual seat belts leave the stock ones for the street and the harness off road. But if your getting harnesses a full face helmet should be next on your list maybe neck brace too.
