A decent set will run you just as much as a set of decent steel wheels so unless you are dead set on running stock wheels skip them. That being said if installed right and maintained they are fine as long as you get quality ones. I've ran them in the past and put locktight on my lugs and rechecked them for the first couple of months and didn't have any issues.

Exactly this^^^
I have a set on my XJ since I really liked the aluminum Canyon wheels I have. Just a little Loctite and proper torque works every time. Check them after the first 100-300 miles and again when you rotate tires.

Torque 'em.
Check 'em regularly.

Hub-centric and wheel-centric. This places most of the 'load' on the center hub rather than the studs.

I agree with everything above post #5. The Rough Country spacers http://www.roughcountry.com/wheel-spacers-1090.html have worked great for me. I've had these on my Cherokee for over two years now with no problems and they have been wheeled hard.

Depends on the back spacing of you wheel. I have the Canyons from a TJ with 5.5" BS. Added a 2" spacer to bring them out even with the BW flat flares.
