Default Advantages to rear disk brakes?

I'm looking for some simple things I can upgrade on my chero this summer, and one of the first things on my list (right under headlights ) was the brakes.

Now the benefits of upgrading the master cyl/booster are fairly obvious, but less obvious were the benefits of swapping the rear drums for disks. Sure, disks are easier to service and have better performance, but the rear brakes don't contribute an enormous amount of braking power to the car (so far as I've noticed anyway).

So maintenance advantages aside, anyone who's done this want to jump in and talk about how different the braking is after your swap?

Thanks,
-Ian

I love the rear discs on my wife's XJ and so does she. Easy to do if you have the Chrysler 8.25 rearend, too. Excellent write-ups available.

I converted my drums to disc brakes and in my mind it is a great upgrade to the braking system.
