Adjustable ball joint?

So I bought my Cherokee a little over a year ago, shortly after buying it I installed a 3 inch lift and when I took it to get a front end alignment the garage pointed out that I have the slightest little bend in the axle so my alignment is never going to be 100%, it is so slight that you really have to sit there and look at it to notice, someone just walking by wouldn't even notice it, anyways anyone think if I got an adjustable ball joint and then got it aligned again that would help getting it as close as possible?

Your axle is bent? If it is your axle, then no, a new ball joint won't help anything.

Yes the axle is bent, barely, but bent, I'm just trying to think of anything that might help get my alignment as close to perfect as possible

Buy a junkyard axle. That's what I would do. Are you sure its bent? Or was the shop trying to charge you for un needed repairs?

Pics may help us understand exactly how it's bent. And I'm guessing a new axle would help?

The garage didn't even suggest anything for a fix so no, all they charged me for was the alignment and I'm really not trying to sink the money into a new axle...

If you are not off roading the thing, you could probably get away with a front axle for ~$100. There were so many XJ's built which makes parts abundant and cheap.

Might be able to find a shop to put it in for another few hundred - dont go to a standard "garage" as they will charge you a fortune. Try to find a smaller 4x4 shop that would be able to perform a competent job. I could do it in my driveway, and I'm not really a mechanic...

Junkyards around me want $130 or less for a Dana 30 and some of them have half days so maybe check that near you
