Hey yall, got a couple questions.

I've done a bunch of research and I think this will work fine, but just wanted to make sure for my specific situation.

I have a 92 xj with the 4.0 HO that has been having a lot of issues. Yesterday, I found a guy with a 98 ZJ that he rolled over. It literally rolled onto the roof and back onto the tires, no front end damage or anything like that. The motor in his ZJ is a 4.0 that was remanufactured by Jeep and has 79,xxx miles on it, and runs PERFECTLY.

If I decide to do the swap, what will I have to do to make this work?

i.e. will motor mounts line up?

Can I just use all the accessories from the ZJ?

Will it line up with the AW-4 in my XJ?

Basically, I'm just trying to figure out what will all be involved. I have access to a shop and have all the tools and help I will need, just trying to figure the out the rest ahead of time.

You can use the engine... just strip it of all sensors, distributor etc.

91-98 are 100% compatible. only difference would be you would need to tap a place in the back of the head for a coolant temp sensor (for the guage, not computer)
