'98 XJ Cruise Control Retrofit for $50 using '98 WJ Steering Wheel
This week my son retrofitted cruise control to our 98 XJ. Total cost of parts from pick-a-part was $50. He used the steering wheel from a 98 Grand Cherokee WJ and modified the clockspring to fit the XJ. It all plugged in and pressing the buttons and the dash cruise control light came on- it was communicating with the computer. We used a 96 XJ servo and plug and had to splice in the 96 plug to the 98 harness- the wires were the same color but the plugs were different. The vacuum source was right there and a 3" piece of vacuum line made the connection. It worked!! Great mod.
