98 ac control light bulbs
I was gonna just splice the wires to put leds in to replace these bulbs but they just twist in rather than wiring. Does anyone know what kind of bulbs I need to look up to get leds that will fit right in? Thanks.

IIRC, the T4 Neo Wedge is what you want for the HVAC lights, and the bottom toggle switches.

2 or 3 for the HVAC lighting, and 1 each for each toggle switch. The gauge cluster uses 74's though.

How did you get them to make contact in the neo-wedge holder? All my glass stock bulbs broke when trying to remove them from the holder, so I just wound up ordering some of the neo-wedge base bulbs.
But I have a bunch of the 74s left over and wouldn't mind gifting them to one of my friends.

You can remove them from the base. (for 97-01 hvac + switches) you just have unwrap the wires that go through and around the sides of it from the old bulb in order to pull it out, then spool in your baseless t5 bulb into the original base you took the old small bulb out of. then reinstall. remember the leds only have the one polarity, so if it doesnt work the 1st try, turn the bulb around. then reinstall into the hvac. this is also how you change the bulbs in the wiper and foglight switches.
