97+ XJ fan in Older XJ
 

Hello. I have a 96 XJ project crawler with 4 wires at the fan connector. Trying to wire in a 97+ Fan with 2 wires. Searched around on a few forums and Google and I find a ton of write up on electric fan upgrades for the mechanical fan but nothing on this topic. Can someone who has done this help please?

I would test the wires but the project is currently sans a battery.

My 94 only had 2 wires

Before you hard splice the fan in make sure you have it pulling air instead of pushing. I'd mount it and just wire nut it in to verify. Then make your splice/solder connections
