Alright guys, after searching left and right, I never found any instructions on how to do this to 97+ vehicles without buying a controller....until NOW!
The TCM on 97+ xj's is located under the driver side next to the steering shaft.
Tools needed:
Wire strippers
2 blue easy splice connectors
2 red butt connecters
5 female connecters for the switchs (optional)
some 14-16 guage wire...could use same colors, just label them.
pin 26 its drk blue/white thats power....cut the wire in half...leave room to put a butt connecter on both ends (the plug side) and the power side...run a wire from the power side to the middle connecter on your 3 prong connector....on the plug side run it to the top prong....
For your selonoid number one thats pin number 12 which is white with i think a black stripe..run that to your bottom prong...
switch all the way down is normal, switch in the middle is first...(put it in first and float lifters up a hill! lol) and up top is second...only use these in the 1-2 selection on your shifter..wont work right if its in drive...leave it in bottom position in drive.
for the torque converter use pin number 11 which is dark blue with a white stripe use a blue splice connecter to add a wire and run that to a 2 way toggle....all you got to do is send power to it...so use another connecter and splice right by your switch, but before it hits the switch, and send it over to the torque converter switch.
not sure if it sets check engine light off or not...mines on from my o2 sensor anyway..its a toy/sub daily driver, so it dont bother me.
I like the fact i can put it in 1-2 now while in 4 low, and i can easily pick between first and second gear...i really like the setup its nice.
I mounted my 2 switches by the cigarette lighter plugs..i took my rear wiper switch out because my rear wiper didnt work anyway, and it had an extra slot to the right of it..first one is torque converter because its on of those rocker switches...i had to jb weld it in there, but the rocker covers everything, and used an orierlly on-off-on switch right beside it for my first and second select.
