94 w 6.5" lift on 35's. Rough vibration at highway speeds
Ok, so I just got my jeep today. I traded a guy my 6spd camaro for it and I love it just as much already. But, when driving it back from the trade I noticed it vibrated very badly at 45-55 mph.(never went above 55.) It has a locker in the rear and new chromoly axles he said. Also the 6.5" lift and 35's as stated in the title. And it is not running a sway bar. Any ideas? I'm new to jeeps and 4-wheeling sort of(meaning i've been but not in my own jeep) so any help or advice of any kind is sure to help. Thanks guys

A sway bar is a good place to start when you say vibration is it like shake the steering wheel vibration or just a little vibration

You might need a slip yoke eliminator (if you dont have one) given it has that much lift. That would be my first guess. I'm at 4.5" and 33's no sway bars front or rear and I've never had vibration because of it.

If you have "death woble" it could be quite a few things. If I run more than 20psi air pressure on 35'' s over it every time I hit o hole. You will have to jack your rig up and check for anything lose ball joints bushings ect. Steering stabilizer could be an issue as well.

no death wobble. just vibration when cruising highway speeds. with the throttle pushed it diminishes it but after i let off to coast i feel it much more profoundly

I would check front and rear drive shafts. It needs a sye in the back if it doesn't have one. I would check motor mounts and transmissions mount. Check all steering linkages for play. Make sure the tires are properly weighted and that you have a good alignment. Good luck with finding a solution and welcome to Cherokee forum!

Id check the driveshafts and invest in a sye. Also check all your steering componets and make sure everything is aligned

Yes the sye is going to be my first priority after I get under there and search for silver lol. Thats what my dad told me to look for with the steering bc if they weren't moving then it would have classic undercarriage muck everywhere. Thanks everyone for the help. I'm pretty excited to get this mother moving right and into some mud
