93 Tire Carrier on 2000 XJ

Hi guys,
I was browsing craigslist recently, and I found a guy selling a factory spare tire carrier off his 93 XJ in really good shape. I was wondering if anyone had mounted one on a newer XJ, or if this is even possible. I would like to try and save some cash and go this route instead of trying to spend a ton of cash on a aftermarket combo. Thanks!

I found one too. It is the one that bolts to the bumper. I have to do the same thing you do to mount it to my '00. So if it is the bumper one I plan on using this as a guide. I just went to the link I saved and all the pictures are not there now. Were a week ago. If I had know this was going to happen I would have save them to my computer. Maybe the write up itself will help. Damn.

I agree with Andrew, but most of all will depend on the size tire your going hang on it stock size should be fine.

The cheapest tire carrier bumper i know of id run is https://www.quadratec.com/products/12057_8102_07.htm Or jcr off road has theirs in two pieces you could buy the bumper then save up for the swing arm.
