Default 90xj aw4 to ax15 t case linkage HELP!!!!

got a 90 xj that came with 4.0 and aw4. I converted it to ax15 using tranny and t case from a 95-96 xj at the bone yard. I drove it a year having to shift t case from under the jeep and finally saved up for a novak cable shift kit. I went to install it and nothing fits. before I decide to modify my $190 shift kit, I'd like some help on figuring out what's different between the renix Jeeps and the h.o. Jeeps. I've seen on forums that there are differences with the 4x4 shifter and all the brackets but nothing really goes into detail. I do know that the body mount for the pivot on the linkage is in a different spot on the newer xjs, just not sure about the rest. also not sure why the kit does not bolt up to the transmission. I called novak and they assured me I have the correct bracket and that they don't understand why it wont work either. any help is urgently needed and greatly appreciated. as I need this rig on the road before winter sets in.

I. also ended up using the aw4 cross member cuz I scrapped the ax15 one by mistake. I've read that they are different but everything bolted up.

For the tcase linkages there is no difference between the renix and ho jeeps. the difference comes with the 242 case and the 231 case. But the novak should work for either.

The aw4 trans is longer than an ax15, dont see how this would affect the tcase linkage placement for a novak though.

When i had problems with my linkage i said screw the 190$ pricetag of novak and went with leadfoots design.

that is what I think I'm going to make myself for about $20. I'm gonna use the t case tab off of a Chevy 231 or a yj (I think) they are clocked up like the one in that link
