I saw on CL there is a perfectly fine jeep up for parts due to not smog passable with a '95 HO motor in it (130k odo). It has a C8.25 (27spline I assume) under it that I want. I am planning on buying this jeep just for the rear axle, is there anything else I can swap from the 89 to my 2000?

btw this stock '89 rig is selling for only 375$

27 spline isn't even worth it, there are parts that can swap but interior and exterior are mostly different.

That's a lot of work and money for an axle that's just a literal hair stronger than a d35

I would swap your front axle also since its a low pinion dana 30 while the 99 and back is high pinion.
