87 cherokee lift
I have a 87 jeep Cherokee and want to run 33s. I was wondering could I do a cheap lift like this? I want to put 2.5" shackles In the rear along with 2" blocks and in the front I want to order coil springs from Jc Whitney that give it 3" lift In the front and I also want to put a 1.5" coil spacer In the front to give me a total lift of 4.5" all the way around. My buddy has a Cj 7 and just ran 7" shackles.

your rig is 24 years old. it needs new leaf spring. going to 4.5" lift isnt cheap. you have many factors to think about and since it so old I would buy a complete kit. since you want 33's and if you want ok MPG you also need to regear.

if you wanna run 33's for cheap, you can do what I did, and do some trimming.
you can also pick up some 3.5" front coils for a good price
a rear bastard pack works fine as long as your stock leafs arent sagging badly

bastard pack and a shackle will keep the rear hopefully from needing a SYE. if you want cheap
or get the zone kit for 4.5" of lift and order a tracbar. price is roughly the same
- bastard pack (dakota leafs)
- shackle (vatozone has chevy lowering shackles that add 1-2.6")
- fat bobs coils (get the full 4.5" ones they cost about the same)
- rough country lower control arms (a must)
- rough country adjustable tracbar (an absolute must)
- relocate you break lines guides all over on here
- get ford F150 shocks for the rear and use your sway bar ends for cheap BPE's
- i would order actual lift shocks for the front or i believe mercury mountaineer 4x4 ones keep the bar pins and are long enough
or get the zone kit for 4.5" of lift and order a tracbar. price is roughly the same

please check out my build for lots of info on a 4.5 lift, includes prices and where to get stuff
I did it right but still as cheap as possible. I bought 4.5 rc coils for $120 and got a s10 leaf pack at the jy for $40 and $40 in hardware for the pack, new center pins, u bolts and the leaf clamps.
But understand that when you do that, your alignment is f'ed and it is hell on old tie rod ends, ball joints, hubs amd everything. Youll need an adjustable track bar, longer swaybar links, and control arms, t-case drop, and all that, see my thread for it all.
Im only short control arms as of today, it still drives ok, my front tires are pulled way back though...
The kits on ebay are like $500, but the way I did it was cheaper with better parts overall and i didnt have to buck it all up at once.

I rubbing when the inside of the wheel wells on both sides in the rear when it flexs. I have been told the problem is who ever had it before me put 15x10 wheels on it and it would be alot better with 15x8s. not sure on the offset. I could use some new bump stops as well.
