Default 8" lift rear drive shaft questions

Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked but i couldn't find anything specific to the question. So i purchased a 2000 jeep cherokee, the previous owner put a 8" rustys long arm lift on it, but did not put a SYE. Instead he tilted the T-case and rotated the rear bumper. This made my T-case basically seize and wont go out of 4-hi. I have a new T-case but don't want to install it until i have a SYE. So my question is, on a 8" lift is there a used drive shaft that i can put in there to make up for the length. I have heard that the front axle wont be long enough since they are maxed out at a 6.5" lift. I have hear that a zj front drive shaft might work. Any ideas? Anyone running a similar setup that didn't get a custom drive shaft made?
Thanks in advance!

maybe I'm missing something, but how does rotating the rear bumper help in this situation??.....i don't think a stock drive shaft will work. Your best bet is tom woods or an Adams drive shaft imo

I also might add that the setup that it has right now has the stock drive shaft that looks like it has been extended about 2".

When I got my XJ it was sitting on 10 inches of lift in the rear. It too was running a stock looking shaft but not sure from what. It was a inch or so longer than a stock XJ d shaft.

To make things simpler I lowered mine down to around 6 5 inches, 10 was just too tall for me even with slick 38's. Since I had a SYE installed I now only need to carry 1 length spare driveshaft. Not sure if this is a XJ that gets wheeled or a mall crawler. It would take 9 or 10 junkyard shafts to equal one aftermarket shaft in terms of $. The custom d shaft warranty doesn't include abuse. Just a another option for you.

Changing the operating/mounting angle of TC (transfer case) can cause the shift linkage to bind. To determine if the issue is TC or shift linkage you can try adjusting the linkage and/or, remove link from shifter tab on TC and manually shift case through its range. May need to grasp shift tab with pliers to manually shift it. Do this on level ground with wheels chocked because you will be shifting the TC through neutral.

Thanks! I have already done this and just replaced it this weekend. Even out of the Jeep it is still locked up in 4-hi. I took advantage of it and installed an eye and am now looking for a drove shaft just haven't decided what route to go.

Definitely not a mall crawler 😂
My problem with getting junkyard one's is there is only one maybe two junkyards around me and they are both over an hour away. They also can't tell me for certain if they even have jeeps at them. Where my drive shaft length is 33.25" from yolk to yolk I would have to be real picky with where I get it from and the chances of finding one would be slim I would imagine.
