Default 8.8 question

Overall width ~59" off a 95 explorer
Stock xj is ~60...
Let's say I was a perfectionist and had to have a 60" wide 8.8 without any spacer plate, any way?
I had a thought to have both shaft ends with thicker steel and longer wheel studs

Such as new 31 spline shafts that are the same length, but on the end the steel is thicker and sticks out .5" each side...
