The 8.8 ABS issue?
Gents,
This is my first post here and it's a somewhat desperate one (because I'm a newb), I've got a '96 XJ that is totally stock. After some research, I bought a ford 8.8 w disc to swap out the 35. I'm literally in the middle of an install when I read "Ford 8.8 isn't compatible with XJ ABS" on one of the forums. I think OMG, WTF, I have ABS (I also have IBS, ADD, and OCD, but that doesn't matter). The 35 is sitting on the floor with the shock perches already cut off and one is welded on the 8.8.
Did I mention I was a newb? Yup, I did.
Did I also mention that I have to drive my jeep to work tomorrow?
The million dollar question is "how do I get this to work?" or better yet, "Am I F***ed?"
Any info would be rewarded with beer...promise!

the abs will just run an open system and your light will come on. just cut off the abs lines at the body and put a sticker over the abs light. I did the 8.25 swap and had abs but did this and have had no problems for 20k miles. When the abs line gets cut the system goes into fail stop mode and your breaks will act like they have no abs at all. You can now lock your wheels and skid to a stop. your not in any trouble and finish putting the perches on the 8.8 then celebrate.

LMAO!
Thanks guys. As luck would have it, a buddy of mine (non-newb type) had a connector adapter for the ABS. If that doesn't work, I'll just pull the relays.
