Default 6" in back 3" in front help!!!!

Ok, I purchased a set of used rear leaf springs for my 93 xj off of craigslist....They were supposed to be 3"...well I bought a brand new set of coils for the front and all four shocks from Rusty's 3" as well. Turns out I have an extra 3" in the rear....so I'm guessing the rear springs were really 6" not 3". I was thinking about just dropping a leaf or two out of the spring pack to get me to the three inch that I want. I can't afford to do a SYE just now and I already bought the 30 x 9.50 tires.... How many should I take out to start any pro's and cons????

Why not just try to find some 3" packs and sell those?

Default Well

I kinda need to get it on the road. My transmission went out in my daily driver and I need a band aid until I can do exactly that.

Put the old leafs in and get some blocks or shackles and you'll be at 2" in the back and 3" in the front. Or try to take a leaf out but idk anything about doing that on lift packs. I mean I guess it would work? Lol just don't want to mess them up.

If you run them less any quantity of leaves you'll ruin the packs and they'll be worthless.

I'd drive it like it is , assuming no horrible vibs, for a day or two until the new leaf packs show up. Then sell the big ones.

What's your shackle angle look like?

Are the 30s even on yet. Why do you think they are 6". You also did shocks and front coil.

Default yup

The 30's are on it and if you measure from the center of the axle to the bottom of the fender you get 3 more inches in the rear than the front. I may just order the new leafs and drive it for a day or two......don't want to destroy a good spring pack.

K. I asked because on my phone it didn't look it. Did you do what last poster wrote about tightening when on ground. How many leave s are on this bastard pack.

Need to torque them on ground so they can settle into place and flex then tighten
