Default $500 upgrade.

Ok the wife is letting me spend $500 of our tax refund on my 96 XJ. Any recommendations? Not tires or lift.

Jacobs ignition on eBay. Accel cap, rotor, and plugs. Davis Unified Ignition LiveWires set. K&N air filter. With good shopping skills maybe a new fuel filter.

What about a new dashboard?

LOL, sorry, had to throw that out there.

The single mod that I feel has changed my jeep the most has been my Spartan locker.

I placed it in the front, and am contemplating one for the rear, but for the cost and the ease of installation, I would vote a locker.

Locker sounds good. Is it worth it if I'm only on 3.73 gears? Or should I re gear first?

I may sound like an old fuddy duddy here...... but if I had 500 bucks and nothing pressing to fix on my xj- I would replace every sensor/ relay on it so it doesnt leave me stranded somewhere with no mechanical way to fix it.
Then maybe a rear disc conversion.....

^^ That's a great idea if you depend on the jeep and do road trips.

If I had $500 to spend on mine on upgrades, I would put some new axles under it. I could do a D44 front and 9" rear for that easy, and even lock them both. That's just me though. That money could also buy you a locker, or a winch, or a bumper for a winch, etc. There's a lot you can do for $500.

Put that $500 towards filing for divorce. Unless, you sit on your *** all day while your wife works. If that's the case, spend that $500 on your wife.
