Default 4 inch lift 90 XJ

So My dad and I put a supposed 4 inch lift on my jeep this weekend I say supposed because I bought it used, and im going to say about 3inch. It came with lower control arms, but we fought them and fought them and could not get them on. Are they a neccesity? They were only about a half to one inch longer than stock. also, what other accessories will I need? Im only doing 31" tires, and we are fabbing up new sway bar links tonight to finalize it. Any help please?

Lowers are a needed thing they keep the geometry close enough for alignment

Any ideas to get them on? It was horrible even trying to get the stocks back in. The axle wanted to pivot forward hard when trying to get them in.

Grease up the bushings and pry, do one at a time leave them and the track bar loose till all bolts are in

I also used a floor jack to help rotate the axle when I did mine. As said, they are needed. I have close to the same lift, and I need to add longer brake lines. I have been in situations where the brake line was holding the axle up, which is not a good thing. There are many threads about changing them out. Even YJ lines are longer.
