hi there, i went on the RE website one day and saw that they sell 7.5'' coils springs.
my question is if anyone ever tried to put these springs on a jeep with a 4.5'' lift also what will happen if the lift is a longarm and if anyone has a picture of what a jeep with these upgrades looks like.

do you mean 7.5 of lift all around or just in the front? i dont like when the front sits higher than the back, especially 3 inches higher. but thats just me. heres some pictures of jeeps lifted 7-8 inches http://www.myjeepxj.com/cherokee-lift-kits

no i've been meaning to ask what will happen if you have a 4.5'' lift and you than decide to put 7.5'' springs on it.
wil i just get higher, will it flex better if the lift is a longarm, or will it just stay as lifted as a normal 4.5'' lift stands.

Its so unclear what your asking..you cant take a jeep with 4.5 inches of lift and put another 7.5 inches on it...When you install the 7.5 coil springs you get rid of the 4.5 coil springs........then you have 7.5 inches in the back and 4.5 in the front..which is ridiculous...
You will basically have to have long arms at 7.5 inches of lift.
Also...why you would want that high of a lift is beyond me...unless its a mall crawler.

Not sure if you're aware of this or not.... springs are what lifts the jeep. So, as others have stated, you'll have jeep that looks retarded. Park the front tires on a curb and take a look. Should be pretty close to a what you'd see with a 7" on front and 4 in the back.

What else would you think coil springs do. They hold the vehicle up. Longer springs more lift.
Not meaning to bash on ya. Just seems too elementary. Like maybe there is a troll in the bushes.

i thought that was the job of the leafsprings.
i thought the coils are meant to soften the ride.
and i know it sound really elementary but if you read under my name, you'll see it says newbie.
and thats the reason i'm asking, i'm still just a newbie who needs to everything there is to learn to build my xj.
Maybe terminology issue?
In the front (coil) springs and shocks. In the rear (leaf) springs and shocks.
The shocks don't have bearing on lift height. Spring do. So what you are talking about doing will lift the vehicle ~3" taller than in sits now. I don't think you want to get into the mods involved with this. Unless you've got cash to burn, that is- bring it to a good shop and turn em loose on it. Full steering, suspension, break and engine work. Plus unibody reinforcements, bumpers, winches, lockers.. The list goes on, but you've spent like 5000-7500 by now... So idk...
