4.5 or 5" lift? Questions
So after basic training I have decided as a treat to myself (I leave june 20 btw) I would add some more lift to my Cherokee. So. I have 3" rusty's front coils in the front. And a XJ on XJ bastard pack in the back. I would like to go either 4.5 or 5" of lift. I was thinking shackles and spacers.
So out of opinions. with doing shackles and spacers would 4.5 or 5" be better? Besides new lower control arms, adjustable track bar, extending my sway bar end links, and shocks. Oh and an SYE which i plan on doing before i leave. SO What else do i need?
I have alot of other stuff I will be doing to my jeep up until I leave SO this is more or less a planing stage.
I will be running 31's possibly 32's. Maybe bigger depending on what i find.

I suggest more than just new lower control arms. I originally purchased a 4.5" kit from RC and found that the 16" lowers with stock uppers allowed my coils to bind in my bump stops. Its annoying when the suspension cycles! And is just not good.
I suggest:
-longer upper and lower CAs(adjustable or not)
-extended bump stops(I used hockey pucks)
-IRO or RK trackbar(great beefy products and good price)
-RC shackle relocation kit(improves ride, flex, and lifts)
Your list seems pretty good. Chances are you will buy parts from different vendors, so buy them at different times. Then, install the parts as you get them, not all at once. That way you can tell for yourself how much each part has helped(or caused an issue).

Read my mind. Im thinking that going to 5" from 3 will be easier to do. Then run some 32s.

Found this kit on ebay. I really cant find a 1.5" spacer. So it really sounds like 2" is the best i can get? Im good with 5" of lift. Just dont want to regear yet.
Does 5" of lift with 31s or 32s with trimmed fenders look that bad?

I just measured the rear. Its only at about 2" of lift. I think im just going to rebuild the bastard pack with a S10 main leaf to get it up to about 5".
So I guess just have to make the list of parts.

I'm going to be running 4.5" of lift with 31's and trimmed fenders very soon and so i too was curious on how it would look. There are a couple threads on here that have pics of 4.5" and 5" lifts with 31s and 32s. IMO it looks pretty good. 33's or 35's would look better but will get more on the pricey side of things. Just search around and you'll find what you're looking for.

With with the stock shackles you will likely gain 2" of lift with the relocation kits.
I have 3.07s, a Renix, and the 33"m/ts. Power is just fine for me, although I am not too choosey when it comes to that. My open diffs are what really hold me back.

A 4.5" kit nets a little over 5" of lift if that makes a difference. Personally I'd get new bastard pack, shackles, look for used 4.5" coils, then adj track bar and control arms and stuff but your deal.

depends if you want to do it right or cheap.. id say buy leaf pack and throw 33's or 35's on it. 5" and 32's will look kinda small.. im running 5.5 and 35's now and i think it looks small though.. so probably going to run 38.5s on 5.5.. all depends on how much you want to cut and just add bumpstop accordingly..

I am actually looking into getting Rusty's 4.5" full packs. I also need to figure out what brand of shock to buy.
Is there anything wrong with running 3" coils with a 1.5" spacer? I mean if it works I'll run it until i get enough money to buy new coils.
My parts list this far.
IRO double shear trac bar
Lower (and upper?) control arm relocation kit
1.5" spacer
4.5" full pack
4.5" Nitro Skyjacker (read good things. Ik not the best)
Any suggestions on changing the list/brands?
