Default AT 4.10 differentials. 31X10.5 tires. Do tires compensate gears?

01 Cherokee
Differential ratio is increased from 3.55 (I think for AT) to 4.10
(receipt says Chrysler 4.25" 4.10)
But bigger tires should compensate more or less.
What is my "tire ratio"?
I bought the Jeep like that and hope it is close to stock differential/tires.
thanks.
What kind of bumper is it and how many inches is lift on my Jeep?
Thanks.

I've got 31s on a 3.5" lift. Yours looks alot like mine.
I've got 3.55 gears and my speedo is accurate according to my GPS.
Got a GPS or an app on your smartphone? You can check it and then change speedo gears as needed with a simple calculation.

Use the gear calculator at www.grimmjeeper.com

The sticker on the bumper says FOUR REAL so a visit to their website might answer that question.

Man, I can't figure you out.

Lift height...

Speedometer...

The bumper is from Four Real 4x4. (Go figure...)

Here's a stock picture of it.

I found all of these answers within 5 minutes on this source. (CLICK ME, CLICK ME!)

It's simple as pie. You should try it.

There are tables pretty much anywhere showing the proper ratio. 4.10 is middle of the range for 31s.

Your speedo will be off unless you change the little speedo gear as well. This affects shifting. Easy to do (5min) and there are tables for the right gear as well... I think you need 38 teeth...

At some point I had the same ratio and I was way off based on GPS measurements.

I'm about to replace my stock gears in my differential what gears should I buy for my 01 xj with 31x10.5 tires?

Do you ever intend to go to a larger tire? I run 4.56's with 33's and a 5 speed. It's perfect.

Ideally, with 31's, you'd want 4.10 gears. Personally, I would leave the 3.55's in there until you decide to upgrade to 33" tires. 4.10 gears wouldn't make enough difference for me to justify the cost for 31" tires.
